A RUNNER from York has achieved her target of running 2,011 kilometres during 2011.
Shona Wood, 29, of Ascot House guest house in Heworth, completed her challenge before Christmas by stepping up her runs around the city.
She has also beaten her original fundraising target of £2,011 for research into motor neurone disease, having collected more than £3,000, with more still coming in.
Shona, who was inspired after her godmother, Sue Benson, was diagnosed with the illness, took part in two half-marathons at Beaumont in Texas, where she had gone on holiday.
She is again planning to run a marathon in Beaumont this year.
