A 19-YEAR-OLD woman has suffered a broken leg and shoulder in a collision in York.
The woman was driving a Vauxhall Corsa on Wigginton Road when she collided with another car at the traffic lights outside the Bumper Castle pub.
Firefighters removed the door of the car to allow paramedics to treat the woman and help her into an ambulance.
She was taken to York Hospital, following the crash at 6.35pm on Thursday, and was treated for a broken leg and shoulder before being released.
A 48-year-old man driving the Vauxhall Meriva suffered minor injuries but did not need medical treatment, police said.
Traffic Constable Ken England, of North Yorkshire Police, said: “I am appealing to anyone who witnessed the collision to come forward and contact the police as soon as possible.”
