Thousands of rail enthusiasts from far and wide will journey to the National Railway Museum between 2-10 June this year for Railfest 2012, Britain’s biggest railway festival.
The nine day celebration of Britain’s railways will give visitors the opportunity to get up close to over 30 amazing record-breaking exhibits which will take up a breathtaking space, the size of 11 football pitches.
This remarkable display will feature an awe-inspiring line-up of locomotives which have all made their particular mark on rail history including the fastest steam locomotive, Mallard, the newest mainline steam locomotive, Tornado, and the first locomotive to reach 100mph, the newly restored, legendary Flying Scotsman.
Visitors to the festival will also enjoy a wide variety of railway-related activities, as well as hundreds of stalls, refreshment areas and live music.
Tickets for Railfest 2012 are expected to go on sale very soon with a discount for advance bookings.
