YORK-BORN BBC sports commentator Guy Mowbray dropped in to visit students at his former school in the city.
Mr Mowbray, who was a student at Huntington School in the 1980s, visited the school to open their Corridor Of Fame which has sports shirts of ex-students who have excelled in their field.
The first three shirts are: Andrew Fraser, Under 19 Scotland International; triathlete Chris Farrell, world record holder for lightweight continuous rowing; and Philip Graves, UK Ironman Triathlete.
Mr Mowbray said: “It was great to come back to Huntington.
“The facilities are unrecognisable compared with when I was here in the 1980s and it is great to see sport at Huntington on the up.”
Nigel Currie, subject leader for sport, said: “It was great to meet Guy and for him to open our Corridor Of Fame.
“A thriving sports department is an essential part of a thriving school and we hope our Corridor Of Fame will inspire our current students to pursue sporting excellence.”
