A NEW ale named after an RAF squadron has been launched at a pub near Selby.

The Brewers Arms, at Snaith, was the venue for the unveiling of Red Goose, produced by the Old Mill Brewery, as a tribute to RAF 51 Squadron which once flew missions from the local Snaith and Pollington Airfield.

Members of RAF Waddington joined the launch party and an ornamental red goose was presented to Wing Commander Gary Crosby, with the brewery receiving a plaque symbolising the squadron and its red goose emblem.

For the first three months of the beer’s run, 5p per pint will be donated to RAF Waddington’s chosen charity, Bomber Command Memorial.
