A BAKING bonanza with a difference has been staged in York to raise funds for a charity which provides support to people suffering from multiple sclerosis.
The goodies went on sale at a cake break event held at a house in Little Lane, Haxby, with the proceeds going to the MS Society, after a team of schoolchildren baked dozens of snacks and treats.
Tabitha Olney, 13, and Alex Richardson and Molly Plews, both 14, are classmates at Joseph Rowntree School, and took part in the sale for a class project called Get Involved.
Helen Appleby, Molly’s mother, said: “They wanted to hold a cake stall at another venue, but couldn’t due to health and hygiene reasons. One of my daughter’s aunties has MS, and every year they hold a cake bake week to raise money for the society.”
