YORK’S new Lord Mayor has been getting into Diamond Jubilee mood in one of his first engagements since taking on the historic civic role.
Coun Keith Hyman, who was formally appointed to the job last week, and fellow councillor Paul Firth, the new Sheriff of York, presented each pupil at Wigginton Primary School and youngsters from the neighbouring Wonder Years Nursery with an engraved Jubilee mug as part of the celebrations of the Queen’s 60 years on the throne.
Almost 300 mugs have been provided by Wigginton Parish Council to mark the occasion.
