PATIENCE paid off for Stamford Bridge angler Allan Jones to land this big barbel.
After three blank hours at Beningbrough Park, his rod wrenched round and after a ten-minute battle he landed his 10lb 4oz specimen.
Jones, of Bartonfields Close, only went to Beningbrough for the first time after reading about it in Darren Starkey's angling column in the Press last Friday.
Jones used a 10lb Krystonite main line, a 10 Super Specialist hook and hair-rigged 14mm halibut pellet.
