TWO villages will be on the go non-stop throughout the four-day weekend.
Nether and Upper Poppleton have teamed together for a mixture of dance, sport and culture that begins with afternoon tea and a barn dance in the Tithe Barn tomorrow and finishes with the official opening of the Diamond Jubilee Walk and a one-and-a-half hour ramble on Tuesday afternoon.
In between, Monday will see a fancy dress parade from Poppleton Tigers football ground to the village green, Maypole dancing by Poppleton Ousebank School pupils and a sports afternoon, and Sunday will be the day for a young person’s disco. There will also be an open-air joint Methodist and Anglican service on the village green on Sunday.
