Tadcaster will host a music festival during the Jubilee celebrations, thanks to a 17-year-old who succeeded where adults had failed.
Musician Mark Allison used his contacts with local bands to put together tomorrow’s all-day charity event at Tadcaster Social Club.
He said: “My parents are members of the club, which has been trying to organise an event like this for years. I got involved because I’m in a band so I know the York music scene. It was difficult and stressful at times, but I had a lot of support from the club.”
The carnival queen will be crowned at Tadcaster Albion Football Club tonight and a 28-float parade will pass through the town on Sunday.
