YORK has more pubs per head than most historic cities with universities, a new report has found.
A study commissioned by Cambridge City Council found York has one pub for every 672 people, compared with one per 824 in Cambridge.
Norwich has one per 752, Oxford and Abington has one per 874 and Brighton and Hove has the same number as York, one per 672.
Bath (one per 569) was the only one of the cities listed with more pubs per head than York.
