LEADERS Bishopthorpe remain unbeaten in zone ‘A’ of the Quality Solicitors Burn & Company Under-11 League (IB) thanks to a home win over Ovington.

Matthew Sharples, with 13 not out and 2-9, featuring two wickets in two balls, led the way supported by Joe Curtis (11 not out), Owen Lewis (10 not out), Angus Bindloss (2-9) and Will Middleton (1-9).

For Ovington, Isaac Firland hit 10 and Kieran Roe took 1-4.

Stamford Bridge are closing in on top spot after they overcame Hemingbrough.

Ben Beard made 10 and Will Dixon took 2-7. For Hemingbrough, W McDonald top-scored with 11 while J McDonald collected a haul of 2-7.

Malton and Old Malton hosted Woodhouse Grange in what turned out to be a close zone ‘B’ game, which they won by just seven runs.

Luke Scott made 19 and Josh Winrush and Alex Biles took two wickets apiece.

For Woodhouse, Matt Ainley made 19, Luke Race took 2-6 and Harry Matthews bagged a healthy 3-9.

Pocklington also got the better of Woodhouse Grange but this time the margin was much wider thanks to the combined efforts of their bowlers.

Harvey Wilkes ended with 2-3, Ted Batty 3-2 and Kane Wilson 2-6.

Tom Scrowston then made 14 not out and Tom Kirby 12 not out to lead the reply.

Top bowler for Grange was Dan Gelder with 2-9.

Just 13 runs separated the two sides as Tadcaster Magnets travelled along the A64 to Malton and Old Malton in the Quality Solicitors Burn & Company U11 (IB) Cup.

The tie went to the home side with both sets of bowlers on top.

Malton’s Will Schofield took 2-4 and Magnets’ Josh Burlingham 3-6. Best batsman was Malton’s Matthew Jefferson with 14.

Stamford Bridge overcame Heworth in the first round.

Dan Durkin led the way with 30 not out and 3-9 with Sam Pratt making 22 and Ben Beard 14. Heworth’s reply was founded on 33 not out by Jack Wilkinson.

Visitors Ovington inflicted the second Quality Solicitors Burn & Company U9 League zone ‘A’ defeat of the season on Clifton Alliance – a win that moved them to the top of the table.

J Hall hit 27 and there were wickets for M Kamer with 1-2, J Burland 1-4, J Hall 1-4 and O Robinson 1-6.

For Alliance, Kier Brooks- Humphrey and Joseph Baker both top-scored with ten not out, while Joseph Hodge (1- 4) and William Cosgrave (1- 10) were the pick of their bowlers.

Neck and neck with Ovington are unbeaten Acomb ‘A’.

Big hitting by their batsmen easily proved too much for hosts Bolton Percy.

Harry Watkinson struck eight boundaries in his 41 not out, while Oliver Walsh and Ben Thornton struck four fours each in matching scores of 20, while Chris Wood hit 16 not out.

Ben Thornton took 2-3 and Thomas Dook 2-5 when Acomb bowled. For Percy, Ryan Ford made nine and Jake Thompson eight, with George McVey taking 1-10.

Early zone ‘B’ leaders are York ‘A’.

They made it two wins from two with an emphatic victory win over Heworth.

Sam Lonsdale was again leading performer with 18 and 2-0. He was aided by B Williamson (17) and C Luck (2-4).

Owen Harrison and Leo Jones were in the runs for Heworth with Tom Francis the pick of their bowlers when taking 1-8.

Acomb ‘B’ had a big win over Selby thanks mainly to a quartet of all-round performances.

Harry Oaten was their top performer with 25 and 2-7, while George Pickard contributed 18 and 1-7, Jacob Rooke 17 and 2-4 and Dan Tingle 15 and 1-4. For Selby there were wickets and runs from O Parsonage.

Having been delayed in starting their programme of fixtures because of the weather, Londesborough Park are making up ground fast with wins at Heworth and at home to Malton and Old Malton.

Against Heworth, Adam Humble and Zac Robinson both made 18, supported by 13 from R Thomlinson, while Tom Stocks gathered 2-1 and Billy Spruyt 1-7.

For Heworth, Leo Jones made 15 and took 2-8 and Alex Stone struck 11.

It was Stocks’ turn to hit 18 against Malton. Humble helped himself to 2-1 and Billy Spruyt 2-3. Malton’s Joshua Mann and Joe Judge both finished with tidy figures of 0-1.

Acomb girls were in form again with a zone ‘C’ win over Ovington.

Tilly Kennedy top-scored with 19 not out, with Sarah Burton (16 not out) and Jenny Quick (13 not out) also shining. Emily Barker took 2-3, while Ovington’s C Barry took 2-12.

Unbeaten Bolton Percy girls lead the table.

Their latest win was at York ‘B’ by just eight runs and owed much to Jasmine Tucker with 20, Elizabeth Martin (1-1) and Wendy Robertson (1-4).

Isaac Allison made 14 and Alex Wood 13 in the York cause with bowlers Ted Wordsworth (3-10) and James Walling (2-6) chipping in.

Drax overcame Dunnington ‘B’ in a close zone ‘D’ game.

Dunnington’s Will Helstrip made 10 not out.
