THE owners of a carpet store in an East Yorkshire town are looking to carry out a revamp of their premises which they say will improve the appearance of the area.
Plans for new windows at Pocklington Carpets, in Market Street, Driffield, and changes to the building’s entrance have been submitted to East Riding of Yorkshire Council. Under the plans, cars would also prevented from parking in front of the store.
The building is in a conservation area, but agents for the owners said the alterations would be an improvement, as the windows are starting to rot. He said the current entrance offered “sub-standard” disabled access.
