GUNFIRE will echo around York today as a 21-gun Royal Salute is fired to mark yesterday’s 91st birthday of The Duke of Edinburgh.
The 5 Regiment Royal Artillery will fire light field guns on the stroke of noon in the Museum Gardens.
Members of the public are being invited to watch the salute, and listen to music from the Heavy Cavalry and Cambrai Band.
