A PILATES class aimed at people with rheumatoid arthritis has been launched in York.
The sessions, believed to be one of only a handful held throughout the country, are focused on helping to relieve symptoms associated with the condition such as fatigue and tiredness, by taking gentle, low-impact exercise.
City of York Council, which has launched the classes in conjunction with York Rheumatoid Arthritis Support Group, said the exercises also help to improve balance and strength, while maintaining movement and quality of life, in a fun and friendly setting.
Classes are held every Saturday at 11am in the Park Inn, North Street, York, and cost £4 per session.
