There were easy wins for both Pete Ransom and Jim Bone's teams, 29-11 and 33-10, at Huntington Road for New Earswick. Ransom led 12-0 after only five ends while Bone won ten of the last 13 ends.
At Doncaster, Barry Harrison's rink had their game won by the half-way stage as they led 22-10 in their 28-16 victory, though Bob Howland's team missed out as they lost 22-21 after scoring a three on their last end.

Eric Hodgson's rink continued their excellent away form, thanks to another good start which saw them losing only one of the first nine ends to lead 15-4, going on to win 25-13.
In the other away rink, Brian Thomas' four had a tough time but won five of the last six ends to go from 25-7 to a 27-14 defeat. They just failed to get a share of the away aggregate points after picking up a two on the last, to miss out by one shot.

Melanie Brooke's team took all the pressure out of the game as they led 16-2 with only eight ends gone and kept up the momentum throughout to win 33-16, scoring a six on the penultimate end.

Selby's Cynthia Wright picked up a two on the last end to complete a run of three winning ends to win 24-19 against Betty Richardson, while Doreen Carpenter scored a single on her last end but went down to Linda Harrison's York team 16-14.

New Earswick's Ladies could only pick up two points from their 84-73 North Eastern League defeat against Doncaster as they lost 84-73.
The only successful Earswick rink came from Margaret Moss, who won a tight away game 20-19.
York's Under-25s progressed through to the next round of the EIBA Double Rink Championship when Copeland failed to raise a team. They now play The Parks, whom they defeated in last year's competition.
