BRITAIN'S favourite bass-baritone made his New York, London and Milan debuts in Mozart and has had the world at his feet ever since.
Here he teams up with Sir Charles Mackerras and the Scottish Chamber Orchestra to celebrate the composer's 250th birthday. Terfel is humble enough not to want all the 19 tracks to himself.
He has invited soprano Miah Persson and mezzo Christine Rice to join him in six duets and a trio (a touching Soave sia il vento, from Cosi), allowing even greater rein to his versatility.
On his own, he steps out of the operatic repertory in five concert arias, all vividly evoked. From The Marriage Of Figaro, he gives us both Figaro and the Count.
We also have a twinkling Papageno, a wheedling Don Giovanni and a love-struck Guglielmo. World-class artistry.
