A GROUP of York cyclists stopped off in the city during a marathon charity ride from John O’Groats to Land’s End.
The York Pedallers’ journey started on June 2 and the cyclists stopped over on Friday night. They resumed their ride at 9am on Saturday.
Elly Fiorentini, of BBC Radio York, cut the ribbon as the cycling team set off on their journey to Cornwall from York Minster.
They are raising money for York Against Cancer (YAC).
YAC provides care for people affected by cancer and undertakes research in collaboration with the University of York and York Hospital.
Jan Wilford, finance co-ordinator at YAC, said: “This will help the charity enormously. In the current economic climate it is good to know we have funds for our various commitments.”
