I COULD not believe BBC Radio York recently giving repeated airtime to a female ex-con who now resides in our region and is campaigning for jobs for released prisoners.
She is apparently appealing to employers to give released prisoners some sort of priority when vacancies arise.
I’m all for people getting a second chance in life, but certainly not at the expense of our own unemployed at this difficult time.
If successful, this proposal would make our beautiful city a magnet for all and sundry. Not a good idea.
