THE families of missing York women Lisette Dugmore and Claudia Lawrence have expressed their sympathy to relatives of Victor Bell.
Mr Bell's remains have been found in a tent in rural Scotland, police said today, four years after he was reported missing.
Dion Smith, whose sister Lisette Dugmore went missing from Clifton in July 2008, said: “Although it has ended as it has, at least the Bell family can have some peace of mind now and lay the body to rest.
"I offer my condolences to the family and my prayers and thoughts are with them at this time.”
Martin Dales, friend and spokesman for Peter Lawrence, whose daughter, York chef Claudia Lawrence, has been missing since March 2009, said: “Our thoughts are with the family at this difficult time, but one would hope this will give them some degree of closure.”
