PARISH councillors have voted against plans to build a wind turbine on the East Yorkshire coastline, saying it would spoil some of the UK’s most spectacular views.
An application has been handed in to East Riding of Yorkshire Council for a 112ft turbine at Flamborough Head, close to two nature reserves and sites of special scientific interest, and Flamborough parish councillors have objected to the proposals.
The turbine would supply electricity to a nearby caravan site under the scheme put forward by Wetherby-based Earthmill, which has said it will be a small-scale scheme. A date for the proposals to go before the council’s planning committee has yet to be fixed.
