THESE two pupils from Scarcroft Primary School have been busy decorating their bicycles to welcome the Olympic torch when it comes to York on Tuesday.
Tom and Benedict are among 200 pupils and parents who have “blinged” their bikes and will line the route of the procession next week before heading to Knavesmire to ring their bells on the last part of the flame’s journey.
Naomi Wells Smith, the York Bike It Officer and co-organiser of the welcome, said: “The group are very excited to be part of such a momentous occasion.
“They have safety checked their bikes, practised their cycling skills and designed their London 2012 bikes especially for the day.
“We’d also like to say a big thank-you to all of the volunteer instructors who have made this all possible and we hope to see many more bikes on the day.”
