Dunnington celebrated double victory in zone ‘A’ of the York and District Junior Cricket Association’s Hirepoint Plant & Tool Hire Under-13s League.

Tom Loten made 32 not out as they beat Acomb by nine wickets. Acomb made 59-9 (Will Fryer 12) with Rosie Todd (2-9), Harry Griffiths (2-8) and B Fawcett (2-7) among the wickets for Dunnington.

Loten then recorded 34 not out against Bishopthorpe and, with Harrison Mussell also chipping in with 28, their total of 113-2 was too much for Bish.

Woodhouse Grange had a six-wicket win over Tadcaster Magnet in a low scoring game. For Magnet, Jack Burton top scored with 11 but lacked support with Shipley (2-1) and Robertson (2-4) leading the bowlers.

No Grange batsman made it into double figures, with H Jackson’s 2-4 the pick of the Magnet bowlers, but they were still able to get the victory.

Malton & Old Malton are out in front in zone ‘B’.

Matthew Watson, with 32 not out and 2-12, led the way, supported by Josh Berry (30no), in their win over Selby. Selby’s Will Edwards (3-14) and Nathan Young (31no) were unable to do enough to stave off defeat.

Watson and Berry were at it again in Malt’s victory over Clifton Alliance. Watson hit 31no and Berry took 3-6. There were also runs and wickets for Jack Charters (30no) and Chris Hall (2-7). Clifton’s cause was helped by Will Bygott, who had figures of 4-16.

Londesborough Park are hot on Malton’s heels. Rory Stephenson and Lewis Medley both hit 30 not out in their total of 94-2 against Yapham. Although Jack Foster made 20 in Yapham’s reply their innings closed 29 short as Kieran Brooke took 2-8.

And Londesborough proved too good for Clifton in a ten-wicket win. Brooke took 2-10, Kieran Wilde 2-3 and Sam Wake 2-7. Tommy Hudson (16no) and Jake Hemsworth (14no) knocked off the runs without loss.

Yapham’s tricky time continued with defeats against Sheriff Hutton ‘B’ and York. In the former, after restricting their opponents to 69-4, Sheriff’s Matt Fairey top scored with 29 as Bridge made 72-3 in reply.

The York trio of Alex Liley (31no), Ted Patmore (30no) and Cameron Burdass (3-1) proved too good for Yapham, although Will Cardy managed an unbeaten 16 in reply.

Against Ovington, visitors Sheriff Hutton Bridge ‘B’ closed on 69-5 with Charlie Hudson on 14 – ten runs short of the Ovington ‘A’ total of 79-4 that was built on 33no from Matty Roberts. Sam Pocklington took 3-6 as his Selby team beat Sheriff Hutton Bridge ‘B’ by four wickets Two wickets apiece from Joe Olney, Nick Hutton and Dan Watkinson made short work of Ovington ‘B’ in the development zone. Harrison Hooper made 15 not out as Acomb ‘B’ claimed a ten-wicket win.

Leaders Pocklington cemented their position at the top of the table with a trio of wins.

Against Heworth ‘B’, K Reney (32no) and D Issenstein (31no) were the backbone of an innings that closed on 119-6. Tommy Pearson hit 20 for Heworth.

Their tally of 100-3 (D Issenstein 32no) and W Parker (25) was too much for Acomb ‘B’, despite Dan Watkinson hitting 30 not out. Pock’s Cian Sutcliffe ended with 2-11.

Equally, Pocklington’s 84-6 against Drax was also too big a hill to climb. In this innings, H Issenstein made 31 not out and Kim Russell 30 not out. For Drax, Max McCray took 3-14 and Charlie Adamson 2-5.

Against Stamford Bridge, despite 31 not out from James Fitton, the Heworth ‘B’ batsmen were kept in check to close on 76-6. Stamford Bridge’s Josh Hannah took 2-17 and Liam Easton 2-4. In reply, Bridge made 77-3 with Thomas Fitzgerald 33 not out and Paddy Sladen taking 2-10.

The leading run-makers in the Hemingbrough versus Bolton Percy clash were both Wilsons. ’Brough’s George made 21 not out, while his Percy namesake James made 23 not out. The difference between the sides were the bowlers as James Bhanver (2-8) and Jack Petkus (2-11) enabled Bolton Percy to pocket the points.

Max McCray shone again for Drax with 3-4 but his side still lost against Stamford Bridge.

A Kerrigan chipped in with 2-7 and J Raylor earlier made 15 runs in their cause. Stamford’s win was based on 17 not out from Louis McMaw and 2-11 from Josh Hannah.

Bolton Percy beat Acomb ‘B’ by two runs.

Percy made 44-8, A Sanderson taking 4-8 and Joe Olney 2-2. Acomb replied with 42-6.
