TWELVE people accused of being part of organised drug production and dealing in York have appeared before the city’s magistrates.

Between them, the 11 men and one woman face charges relating to cocaine, a class A drug; cannabis, a Class B drug; and money laundering. At a series of short hearings today, they were all sent to York Crown Court where they will appear on June 22 for a preliminary hearing. None of them was asked to enter any pleas.

The 12 are: Claire Louise Allan, 23, of Cambridge Street, off Holgate Road; David Atkinson, 33, of Andrew Drive, Huntington; Andrew Paul Beard, 34, of Hewley Avenue, Tang Hall; Robbie James Burns, 32, of Alcuin Avenue, Tang Hall; Paul Clements, 43, of Hope Street, off Walmgate; Paul Garside, 42, of Bell Farm Avenue, off Huntington Road; Dennis Stephen Patton, 57, of Pottery Lane, Heworth; Edward Glenn Peart, 35, of Bell Farm Avenue, off Huntington Road; Lee Sean Quinlivan, 22, of Hawthorn Terrace, New Earswick; Stephen Robert Small, 28, of Dodsworth Avenue, Heworth; Daniel William Taal, 25, of White Rose Avenue, New Earswick and Simon Turner, 31, of Pottery Lane, Heworth.

Atkinson, Small and Taal face a charge of conspiracy to supply cocaine. Atkinson, Beard, Burns, Clements, Garside, Peart, Quinlivan, Small, Taal and Turner are all charged with conspiracy to supply a Class B drug. Patton and Turner are alleged to be concerned in the production of cannabis. Clements and Small are jointly charged with concealing or transferring criminal cash and Allan is separately charged with laundering money through her bank account. Small is also charged with attempted concealment of criminal cash.

All except Small were released on unconditional bail. Small was released on conditional bail.
