PLANS for a wind turbine on farmland in York have been approved by city councillors.
The scheme will see the 15-metre structure built at Springfield Farm in Appleton Road, in Bishopthorpe.
Seven residents and Acaster Malbis Parish Council had objected to the proposals, saying a previous scheme had been turned down because the site lies in the Green Belt, but planning officers said its “environmental benefits” would outweigh any harm it would cause and it would not “unduly” affect people living nearby.
