IN CASE you were wondering, this is National Crime Month.
Do not worry yourself unduly over this: the crime in question is fictional; unless you are feeling gloomy about modern life if which case you may well believe every month is National Crime Month.
This event is run by the Crime Writers’ Association and crime writers Sheila Quigley and Bill Kitson will be visiting York next week.
The intention is to give an insight into the life of a crime writer and at the same time, draw the public into libraries.
Sheila Quigley, author of the Seahills series, now has a new series of crime books featuring detective Mike Yorke set on Holy Island. The second, Nowhere Man, has just been published in paperback.
Bill Kitson, creator of the DI Mike Nash series, has just published Identity Crisis, his sixth of the series. Living in the Thirsk area, and originally from Baildon, West Yorkshire, Bill is looking forward to meeting his readers.
Bill and Sheila will be at Explore York Library & Learning Centre on Wednesday at 7pm. Admission is £4. The event includes a crime quiz with the opportunity to win a book signed by the authors. For tickets phone 01904 552828.
