THE Olympic Flame has been greeted by cheering crowds after arriving in North Yorkshire.
David Heppell, 66, from York, carried the torch through the village of Lythe the near Whitby, on Monday morning before it made its way through Sandsend and Whitby. From there the torch was taken by train on the North York Moors Railway, to Pickering then on to Scarborough.
The torch will spend the night in Hull and is due to arrive in York on Tuesday afternoon.
