POLICE in Selby are urging residents to be vigilant after a spate of burglaries over the weekend.
Officers are investigating a burglary and an attempted burglary in Burton Salmon and a further burglary in Hazlewood between Saturday and Sunday.
Burglars attempted to smash a lock in Burton Salmon at an address in Trust Fold shortly after midnight in the early hours of Sunday but were unable to gain access.
The second burglary happened between 6pm on Saturday and 6pm on Sunday when the padlock was forced off a shed in Ledgate Lane, Burton Salmon. Nothing was stolen.
