RESURFACING work on a section of one of York’s busiest roads will start this week.
The first phase of the programme on the A1079 between Common Road and Holme Lea Farm at Dunnington will start at 9.30am on Friday and is expected to be finished by 4pm that day, with the second stage due to start at 7pm on Monday, July 2, and be completed by 4am the next day.
A convoy system with narrow lane widths will be put in place and vehicles will be prevented from entering or leaving Common Road at its junctions with the A1079 while the work is being done by East Riding of Yorkshire Council.
The route will remain open as usual at all other times.
