THE fruits of a huge art project which saw hundreds of pupils let their imagination run wild have gone on display at a York school.
Children at St Wilfrid’s RC Primary School started creating their artistic efforts last November as part of Art Week, with professional artists coming in to speak to classes and pass on tips.
And the results are now being shown around the school, with the exhibition seeing classrooms turned into galleries named after some of the world’s most famous art attractions, such as the Louvre and the Guggenheim.
Every one of the 260 pupils at St Wilfrid’s was involved in the project.
“Everybody was absolutely blown away by the talent of the children and the amount of teamwork which went into getting the exhibition up and running,” said school administrator Stephanie Wood.
