Visitors to the St Leonard’s Hospice summer fair on Sunday, July 1, will have the chance to cuddle rabbits, hens, guinea pigs and other small animals.

Animal rescue charity Nuzzlets, based near Great Ouseburn, is bringing a number of its animals to the event which is held in the grounds of the hospice in Tadcaster Road, York.

Sarah Atkinson, community fundraiser at St Leonard’s Hospice, said: “The Nuzzlets animals are lovely and often visit our patients. I know we’ll have lots of people – young and old – who want to meet them.”

The fair, which is open from 1pm to 4pm, again promises to be a great day out for all the family with a wide variety of games and stalls to entertain visitors of all ages. There will be a Party Fun Bus for children and music throughout the day.

There will also be a chance to meet the hospice’s mascot, Lenny Bear.

Visitors are invited to make a £1 donation on entry and all the money raised will go towards the hospice’s work of caring for local people and their families.

There will be no parking at the hospice on the day of the fair and visitors are encouraged to use the Park&Ride car park at Askham Bar.
