THE planned strike by doctors tomorrow may see appointments cancelled without warning, York Hospital is telling patients.
Doctors are set to hold a national one-day strike in protest over planned Government changes to pension contributions.
A spokesman for York Hospital said: “The full impact of the industrial action will not be clear until it is under way, so it is possible that we may have no choice but to cancel some appointments and procedures on the day.
Urgent and emergency work will be unaffected.” The hospital said it had made efforts to contact every patient whose appointments may be affected.
The spokesman said patients should contact the hospital if in doubt, or come to hospital if they had not heard otherwise.
GP surgeries in York also say essential care will not be neglected.
Jorvik Medical Practice said it would “not take any industrial action which could have an adverse effect on patients”.
