A PRODUCTION of Stephen Sondheim’s hit Broadway musical Into The Woods is coming to York’s Bootham School this summer.

With a cast spanning the entire school, from pupils aged 11 up to the sixth form, it has been led by student directors and producers - Kitty Acton and Georgia Tindale.

The event promises to be a journey into an entrancing world of fairy tale, where Red Riding Hood’s Granny ends up battering the Big Bad Wolf.

As part of the Bootham School’s summer Unleashed Arts festival, the show is open to the public with two performances; the first at 7pm on June 28 and then 11am on June 29 in the school theatre.

Student director Georgia Tindale said: “We love musicals and this is a favourite of ours; it twists the fairy tales you already know and is filled with fantastic songs.”

Tickets are free. Phone the school for details on 01904 623261.
