PARTS of the A64 near York will be closed over the coming weeks for resurfacing work to be carried out.

Sections of the westbound entry slip road at Grimston Bar will be resurfaced from 8pm on June 25 to 6am the following day, during which time traffic will be diverted on to the eastbound carriageway to Hopgrove roundabout.

The eastbound entry slip road at Tadcaster Bar will also be closed overnight from June 27 to 28, with diversions along the A659 and A162.

Work at Bramham roundabout is expected to start on July 30 and last for about three weeks, with resurfacing being carried out in phases between 8pm and 6am Monday to Thursday.

“This work is required to maintain the A64 in a safe and serviceable condition, and when complete, it will prolong the life of the carriageway and minimise the need for future roadworks,” said Highways Agency project manager Martin Hobbs.
