STUDENTS in York have seen their messages to world leaders made into a film which has been shown to royalty, ex—presidents and leading scientists at a Rio summit.
Three 13-year-old pupils at Joseph Rowntree School – Ben Smythe, Phoebe Frere and Georgie Bryan – are featured in the film, Voices Of The Future, as well as soundbites from activist and retired bishop Desmond Tutu and UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon.
It has been screened at the Rio+20 Earth Summit and forms part of a webcast which was today being shown at the school’s own event.
