RESIDENTS in East Yorkshire are being warned about unsafe electronic cigarettes after they were found on sale at a Sunday market.
The eHealth - Cigarette is currently subject to a European Safety Recall because the brand’s charger unit could give users an electric shock and overheat, while its labelling has also been ruled inadequate.
The location of the market where the item was found has not been confirmed.
But Coun Jackie Cracknell, East Riding of Yorkshire Council’s portfolio holder for community partnerships, said: “It is most concerning to discover items such as this are on sale to the public who may be exposed to the risks attached to it.
“I am reassured by the swift response by the trading standards service and would echo their advice on the need for buyers of the product to stop using it immediately.”
