ANOTHER rapid innings from Heworth’s Tom Neal – 50 not out in 29 balls with five fours and two sixes – was enough to win their Hirepoint Plant & Tool Hire under- 15 League zone ‘A’ game at Yapham.

C Brewer 21 was top scorer for the home team as Ryan Whitely’s 2- 10 kept Yapham in check.

But Acomb took Heworth’s unbeaten record thanks to 4-9 from G Dodds. Neal made 51 not out but his fellow batters could not stay with him and the innings closed at 99.

Ollie Fryer (41no) and Aidan Burton (31) helped Acomb to post a decent total of 119-2.

George Wilson scored 52 not out in a Dunnington total of 102-5 but it was not enough as wicket-keeper Toby Pratt hit 51no as York went to 105-1.

Tom Anderson, 37 and 3-1, took his Bishopthorpe side to the points against local rivals Bolton Percy.

Batting first Bishopthorpe posted 104-2. Bolton Percy’s reply reached 59-5 mainly thanks to 31no from Andrew Shepherd.

The game between Dringhouses and Yapham was bowler-dominated.

Yapham were all out for 62, L Rennison taking 5-16. Dringhouses struggled to 42-6 with Bill Oldfield bagging 3-6.

There was a close zone ‘B’ game at Malton & Old Malton where visitors York ‘B’ ran out winners.

For Malton, Shaun Harland topscored with 34 and Morgan Fraser took 3-10. York’s Oliver Scurry made 41 and Sam Elliott took 4-9.

Unbeaten Selby took the points at Clifton Alliance thanks to solid performances from Elliot Precious (31no), Alex Bowden (33 and 3-9) and Kieran Heeley (3-8).

Malton posted 21-3 against Ovington led by Harland’s 52no before Ovington were skittled for 56 with Ryan Gaugan taking 2-2, Marcus Brigham 2-21, George Ullyot 1-7 and Matthew Watson 1-1.

Sheriff Hutton Bridge bowler Oliver Leedham’s stunning haul of 6-4 bowled Pocklington out for just 33. His spell included four wickets in four balls.

But Bridge also toiled against Tom Richardson, who finished with 4-5.

Seven wickets were lost before the winning runs were hit.

Batting first, Osbaldwick closed with 74-5 led by Jonny Rawsthorne’s 36. Londesborough Park only lost one wicket as they made 77-1, with Will Stephenson 26 and James Hanley 34no on form.

Ovington ‘A’ batted first against Malton & Old Malton with Oliver Finch making 25 not out and Matthew Watson taking 2-14 in their zone ‘B’ duel. Malton openers James Nelson (33no) and Bradley Freer (30no) made light work of the target.

Hemingbrough totalled 65-9, with Oliver Turney on 28, but finished five runs short of the Acomb ‘B’ total of 70-4 in a development zone duel. In the Acomb innings, Joe Olney top-scored with 14.
