POLICE are warning motorists they will be out in force this weekend looking for people who put lives at risk by drinking or taking drugs and then driving.
Since the force’s summer enforcement campaign was launched on June 1, officers have arrested 67 people suspected of getting behind the wheel while under the influence of drink or drugs, 19 of which have been banned.
More than 1,500 drivers have been breathalysed.
With another England football match to look forward to tomorrow in the Euro 2012 tournament, police are urging people heading out to watch the game in pubs to be safe on the roads.
