YORK’S council leader will meet fire fighters on Monday to discuss flood prevention.
Coun James Alexander will visit Clifford Street fire station for a tour and to hear about their work. He said: “The two rivers in York are one of the things which make the city special, but it’s incredibly important they are maintained in a way which keeps the public safe, and I’m interested in hearing how the fire service provides training to riverside businesses, specifically with the recent flooding.”
