FOOTBALL fans are gearing up for a nail-biting night tomorrow, as England look to book a place in the semi-finals of Euro 2012.
England face Italy in Kiev in the quarter-finals, which kick-off at 7.45pm, looking to maintain Roy Hodgson’s unbeaten run.
Pubs are expecting a busy night – but the city’s large Italian population is also in buoyant mood, hoping the Azzuri can progress at England’s expense. At the Lighthorseman pub in Fishergate, bar room banter will certainly reach fever pitch, but patriotic punters may want to watch what they say – while the pub landlord Steve Robinson is English, his chef Salvatore Marci is Italian.
