PLANS for 49 new homes and a health and social care centre in an East Yorkshire town will be discussed next week.
Lovel Developments (Yorkshire) Ltd has applied for permission for the development on a piece of land in Market Weighton, close to the town’s tennis club.
The proposals will now go before East Riding of Yorkshire Council’s planning committee.
However, a decision on whether the scheme goes ahead could be put on hold after planning officers said highway concerns needed to be addressed and an agreement to build community facilities, including play areas for children and a contribution from the developers towards a roundabout at the nearby A1079 Holme Road junction – the scene of a string of accidents in recent years - is formalised.
They have recommended approving the development once these matters are resolved.
