WE would like to thank all the doctors and nurses who took such excellent care of our daughter, Eva, when she was admitted to York Hospital last week with a badly broken arm.
What could have been a very frightening experience for a nine year old was turned into more of an adventure, with doctors drawing a pig on her poorly arm (no doubt so the surgeon knew which one to operate on) to the women in the plaster room fussing over her and allowing her to put aside some bright green bandages for her pot.
Thanks also to the play workers and school team who kept her occupied during her three days in hospital and to the York music students for their fun workshop.
Gratitude also to the catering team for a stream of kid-friendly food of chicken nuggets, macaroni and cheese, ice cream and Milky Ways; no wonder she wasn’t too fussed about going home.
Glad to say she is on the mend and that we saw the NHS at its very best.
Mr and Mrs Pears, Howard Street, York.
