A MAN has been arrested after a car was driven the wrong way up the A64 near York today and crashed into another car.
The accident happened near Grimston Bar at 12.40am but the driver going the wrong way did not stop, police say.
Instead, the Vauxhall Corsa continued eastbound on the westbound carriageway towards Hopgrove.
Police eventually managed to pull the car over on the A19 at Crockey Hill. A 27-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and drink-driving, and he remains in police custody for questioning.
The occupants of the other car in the collision were taken to York Hospital for treatment.
