AN East Yorkshire village showed off its residents’ skills during a special open weekend in honour of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.
Shiptonthorpe, near Market Weighton, holds a visitors welcome event each year featuring one particular kind of activity.
But this year’s event, held at the weekend, combined open gardens, a scarecrow festival, a flower festival and a display of artists’ work in honour of the Queen’s 60 years on the throne.
