FIRE crews and a police helicopter searched Burton Salmon, near Selby, for an hour on Friday night after a member of the public reported hearing a woman shouting for help near a lake in the village.
North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service water rescue teams from Ripon and Malton joined two crews from Selby to try and locate her, but found nothing and the search was called off.
The call was believed to have been made in good faith.
