FUNDRAISERS exceeded their expectations when they held a Zumba special at Huntington Stadium to help Jamie Inglis.
The six-year-old boy from Kelfield, near Selby, needs £250,000 for pioneering treatment against neuroblastoma. At least 108 people aged from six upwards danced for hours to the instructions of Angela Robertson and Ann-Marie Jeffrey. Organisers had hoped to raise £350 for the Jamie appeal, but when they totted up the money at the end, they found they had £570. Organiser Jo Battson, of York Community Fitness Monks Cross, said: “We are really, really pleased about it. It’s great. Every little helps.”
Jem Water, of JSS Audio, and Neil Lineker, of York Athletics, provided equipment free.
