MYSTERY Plays actors Ferdinand Kingsley, who will play God and Jesus Christ, and Graeme Hawley, who will play Satan, take a look at the model of the performance area which will be set against the backdrop of the ruins of St Mary's Abbey.
The 1,400 nightly audience in this summer's York Mystery Plays will be seated in three separate stands surrounding the stage in the Museum Gardens.
Organisers are stressing that the stands will be covered, although the stage area will not be protected from the elements.
The plays, which will be staged throughout August, will involve hundreds of amateur actors from across the community.
