POLICE are concerned for the safety of a North Yorkshire woman, who has been missing since yesterday.
Veronica Margaret Esarte-Sarries was reported missing from her home at Carlton, near Leyburn, at 9.50am on Monday, and last had contact with her family at 8.30am yesterday.
The 64-year-old is described as white, 5 feet 3 inches tall, of medium build with greying blonde, collar length, wavy hair. She has grey eyes and it is believed she is wearing a black jacket and jeans.
North Yorkshire Police are carrying out extensive searches with Swaledale Mountain Rescue Team, and have appealed to anyone who may have seen her since yesterday or knows of her current whereabouts to contact them.
Inspector Sarah Sanderson, said: “Both the police and Veronica’s family are very concerned for her safety and I am appealing for anyone who may have seen her, or knows of her current whereabouts to contact us.
“Or, better still, if Veronica hears or sees this appeal, please make contact with your family, friends or the police and let us know that you are safe.”
