INSPIRATIONAL: The Simone Bolivar Orchestra from Venezuela under its charismatic conductor Gustavo has been in Russia, Scotland and is now in England performing wonderful classical concerts.
The aim of this huge orchestra is to help children from poor and underprivileged backgrounds and to assist them in getting enjoyment from classical music. In Venezuela, more than 400,000 young poor children are involved with learning to play musical instruments and performing within orchestras.
This whole idea is superb because it teaches children discipline, working together, involvement, creativity and appreciation of the arts, a sense of commitment and pride and passion in doing good, but at the same time having an immense amount of fun.
If only the media would give more attention and coverage to great projects like this inspirational orchestra – everything about it is thoroughly good and positive.
