I DO hope four-year-old Leah Zeki is soon on her feet again, after her accident in Dalton Terrace (The Press, June 21), but whoever was responsible at the council for placing four sets of lights in Holgate Road should have foreseen the dangers to the children of the Mount School.
These extra lights cause traffic to back up most days, almost to Holgate Bridge, and on the race days last week the traffic was down to the Fox public house, so consequently drivers are using Dalton Terrace to escape the jams.
Leah’s mum herself says the traffic is ten times worse since the lights were installed. The Water Lane fiasco has not yet been resolved yet now the powers-that-be have managed to cause more chaos.
Put Holgate Road back to its original single set of lights and the problem would be solved.
